Introducing Multiple Accounts
We’re excited to introduce Vertex’s newest feature to the community – multiple accounts.
Traders can now create and manage multiple accounts under the same wallet address. Multiple accounts afford traders the flexibility to utilize different accounts for specific reasons.
For example, a trader could have dedicated accounts to:
- Trade memecoins.
- Trade the major perp markets such as BTC and ETH.
- Participate in trading competitions.
- HODL spot assets and earn yield.
Since each account is isolated from one another, it also gives traders an option to trade one or a few positions per account – delivering a similar experience to isolated margin when using a subaccount solely for one open position.
The Details
Traders can now create up to 4 accounts using the same wallet address on the Vertex app!
Each account will be cross-margin and have its own positions and risk management – independent of the other accounts the trader has under the same wallet.
Traders can even name their accounts and assign avatar pictures specific to each subaccount. You can easily switch between accounts on the Vertex app, and whatever account is selected will be the active account used to trade with, deposit into, and view the account history on the DEX.
Important: new accounts need to be funded to be successfully created. If an account is not funded upon creation and the page is refreshed or exited, the account creation process will restart.
Traders can fund their accounts by depositing assets directly into the account during creation. The ability to transfer funds between accounts will be introduced shortly, and it will also be an option for funding new accounts under the same wallet.
How to Create an Account
Step 1. Open the account drop-down menu.
- On the Portfolio Page (image 1 – desktop only).
- Account Center (image 2 – desktop and mobile).
Step 3. Enter your new account details.
- Name your account.
- Select an avatar (e.g., using your ENS, Vertex Avatar, or the default generated one).
Step 4. Deposit funds into your new account.
This step is REQUIRED to create a new account. If you do not deposit funds and close the app after creating an account, then the account will be removed and you will need to restart.

The app will now reflect your new account details.
Easily Switch Between Accounts
Now that you have multiple accounts, you can easily switch between them.
- Simply click on the Account on the Portfolio page or in your Account Center.
- Click on the account you would like to switch to.
The app will switch to your desired account. All of the relevant trading information for that specific account will be reflected on the Vertex app once selected. The active account is represented by the green dot in the drop down menu in the upper left corner.
Portfolio Example
Click on the Account (Top-Left)
Click on the Account you want to switch to.
The app will switch over to the new account.
Account Center Example
Click on your wallet / avatar.
Click on the account drop-down below your wallet and beside avatar.
Click on the account you want to switch to.
Once clicked, the green dot will switch to the account you have selected.
The app will update to the selected account.
In summary, multiple accounts afford traders more flexibility when trading on Vertex.
Whether a user wants to use a new account to trade a single perpetual position that mimics isolated margin, separate their yield-bearing accounts from trading, or use a specific account for participating in trading competitions – the choice is yours, anon.
